Abstract


From the outset, Islamization process of the Malay world had transpire in the peaceful manner. This peaceful atmosphere continues to run until the advent of Western colonial powers. Recently, the phenomenon of extremism has grown to Malay world. It has been defame Islam and the Malay world region. On the basis of that, this study will analyze this so called Islamic extremism through Maqasid’s method. As a result, it is proven that such religious extremism is contrary to the teachings of Islam as well as the culture of Malay world.
