Legitimasi: Jurnal Hukum Pidana dan Politik Hukum, published biannually in June and December, is published by Islamic Criminal Law Department, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Its purpose is to promote the study of criminal law, legal politics, and Islamic law in general and to discuss discourses of the development of criminal law and government policies from various perspectives. It is also to help in the understanding of criminal law and the legal politics, and Islamic law in Indonesia. The journal publishes research articles, conceptual articles, and book reviews of criminal law, and Islamic law (See Focus and Scope). The articles of this journal are published bi-annually, in June and December.

Legitimasi starts its publication in 2012, and it has been registered with CrossRef. All articles published by Legitimasi have a DOI number. Legitimasi is also indexed by Index Copernicus, Dimensions, Google Scholar, Garuda, Moraref, BASE. (See Indexing). Legitimasi starts to be published online in Vol 6, No 1 2017, while before it was in printed edition.

We welcome research papers, literature reviews that have high-quality on topics of the Criminal of law, legal politics, law development, legislation, and Islamic law.
