Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the concept of multiculturalism in foreign language learning, especially Arabic and English, at the Al Istiqamah Ngatabaru Islamic Boarding School. Along with the development of globalization, foreign language skills have become one of the important competencies that must be possessed by students. Al Istiqamah Ngatabaru Islamic Boarding School as an Islamic-based educational institution plays a role in creating an inclusive environment by integrating multicultural values ​​into the foreign language learning curriculum. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, which observes the learning process, interactions between students from various cultural backgrounds, and their impact on foreign language comprehension. The results of the study indicate that the application of multiculturalism in this Islamic boarding school is not only focused on language teaching, but also on developing attitudes of tolerance, mutual respect for differences, and understanding of cultural diversity. In addition, Arabic and English language learning at the Al Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School is carried out with an approach that prioritizes cultural contextualization, so that it can build students' language skills while enriching their cultural insights. This study contributes to understanding how the concept of multiculturalism can be integrated into foreign language education in Islamic educational institutions.
