Abstract

The influence of culture on learning has been widely recognized, by experts including Vygotsky. The purpose of the study was to test the effectiveness of the Acehnese culture-based training model; Seulangke and to improve the competence of state secondary school principals in South Aceh Regency, Indonesia. This study is a qualitative method with a cultural approach. This article uses a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-shot case study and involves 27 principals in South Aceh. Data collection was carried out using tests and documentation, then analyzed using the t-test formula using SPSS version 23. It is known that the difference in learning outcomes of training participants who use the Jigsaw training model (as experiment A) and the Seulangkê model (experiment B) among the principals. The study concluded that the results of the experiment showed a difference in learning outcomes between experiment A and experiment B, where experiment A was 69.63 and experiment B was 75.00. This means that the use of experiment B (Seulangkê Model) in learning is better than the experimental model B (Jigsaw Model) as a control experiment. It can be seen from the statistical data analysis of the "t-test" obtained a t-count output of -2.887, while the statistical table with a significance level of 5% or a confidence interval of 95% with a degree of freedom of 52. If the t-count is located in that area, H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of participants in experimental classes A and B on the theme of principal competency (personality, managerial, entrepreneurship, supervision, and social) are not the same or significantly different, which means that there are differences in the learning outcomes of training participants, where experiment B is better than experiment B.
