PERAN KOMUNITAS SAVE STREET CHILD DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR ANAK JALANAN SURABAYA
Abstract
Abstract: The condition of many street children is that they do not go to school or have dropped out of school. This happened because several basic needs have not been met, which makes them have low motivation to study. Therefore, the Save Street Child (SSC) Surabaya community, as a community that cares for street children, is here to act as a companion to street children and help increase their motivation to learn. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research stages carried out were assessment through observation and interviews then analysis, data reduction and drawing conclusions. In increasing the learning motivation of street children in the SSC community, the role played is through a program of activities that suit the needs experienced by street children. The results of the research show that street children have very low motivation to learn, due to environmental factors that not everyone accepts their existence.

Abstrak: Kondisi anak jalanan banyak yang tidak bersekolah atau putus sekolah, hal demikian terjadi karena beberapa faktor kebutuhan dasar yang belum terpenuhi sehingga membuat mereka memiliki motivasi bekajar yang rendah. Oleh karena itu komunitas Save Street Child (SSC) Surabaya sebagai komunitas peduli anak jalanan hadir berperan sebagai pendamping anak jalanan dan membantu dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu dengan asesmen melalui observasi dan wawancara kemudian menganalisis, mereduksi data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak jalanan komunitas SSC maka peran yang dilakukan adalah melalui program kegiatan-kegiatan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang dialami anak jalanan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak jalanan memiliki motivasi yang sangat rendah dalam belajar, dikarenakan faktor lingkungan yang tidak semua menerima keberadaan mereka.
