Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze hedonistic behavior among teenagers who are fans of online gambling. Hedonism, as a life orientation that seeks pleasure and instant gratification, is increasingly prevalent among adolescents, especially with the easy access to digital technology and online gambling platforms. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with several teenagers who are active users of online gambling sites. The findings reveal that hedonistic tendencies drive teenagers to gamble as a means of escaping stress, seeking momentary pleasure, and expressing a modern lifestyle. Social environment, lack of parental control, and exposure to digital media further reinforce these hedonistic inclinations. These findings underscore the importance of the roles played by families, schools, and related institutions in providing education and stricter supervision of teenagers’ online activities.
