can increase the resulting productivity, especially in the current era of globalization where technology
is increasingly advanced, in the world of education it is also not immune from the impact of
increasingly rapid globalization such as the use of social media in the world of education. One of the
current social media users is students, because by using social media students can easily communicate
near or far, information is easily obtained. However, this matter still receives little attention from
teaching staff regarding its use in the teaching and learning process in order to increase educational
success at the secondary level. The aim of this research is to determine the use of social media as a
means of supporting educational success. The method used in this research is the library research
method. The results of this research show that the use of social media as a means of supporting
success in education can further improve the quality of education if used as fully as possible.
However, this does not mean that social media only has a positive impact, but social media also has a
negative impact when its use is not controlled and the information is not filtered, errors can occur in
the learning process, so educators or teachers can be more selective in using social media to avoid
deviations from students. .
