Suatu perspektif semiotika dalam hukum saat ini berada pada tahap kematangannya. Berkembang pada akhir tahun 1980-an dan kemudian mendapatkan pijakan kuat (mengakar) dalam sosiologi hukum, focus kajian bidang ini mempunyai banyak bentuk, yang dapatnnual dilihat pada 1980-an, yaitu diselenggarakannya pelaksanaan dua konferensi besar tahunan, yang satu di amerika, The Annual Rounndtable on law an semiotics, dilaksankan di Reading Pensylvania, dan satunya lagi The Internasional association for The semiotics of law, dengan basis (umumnya melaksanakan) konfrensinya di Eropa, dikedua konferensi itu banyak karya ahli yang ditampilkan.References
