Abstract

Abstrak Islam merupakan agama universal dan simbol perdamaian (al-Salam), yang mengajarkan berbagai aspek di dalam kehidupan penganutnya. Salah satu aspek terpenting untuk mewujudkan Islam yang damai ialah pemikiran wasathiyah (moderat). Dalam mempraktekkan pemikiran wasathiyah tersebut, harus kita akui bahwa ulama tasawuf telah mampu melakukannya. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan kemampuan mereka menjawab gejolak yang berlaku di dalam kehidupan umat Islam, khususnya di Aceh. Kajian ini membahas mengenai pemikiran wasathiyah ulama tasawwuf Aceh. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui secara jelas bagaimana pemikiran wasathiyah ulama tasawwuf Aceh. Secara umum, kajian ini bersifat kualitatif yang menggunakan metode dokumentasi untuk pengumpulan data. Adapun hasil kajian memperlihatkan bahwa, sangat besar kontribusi ulama tasawwuf dalam upaya menerapkan pemikiran wasathiyah di dalam masyarakat Aceh.
