A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF ISLAMIC ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN GLOBALIZATIONAL ERA

Abstract


Globalization has become the defining process of the present age. The most important aspects of economic globalization are the breaking down of national economic barriers, the international spread of trade, the financial and production activities, and the growing power of transnational corporations and international financial institutions in the process. While the opportunities and benefits of this process have been stressed by its proponents and supporters, recently there has been increasing disillusionment among many policy makers in the developing contries, analysis and academicians as well as community of non-governmental organization (NGO) in both Eastern and Western countries. The reasons for the changing perception of and attitude towards globalization are many. Among others are the lack of tangible benefits to most developing countries from opening their economy despite the well-publicized claims of export and income gains, the economic losses and social dislocation that are being caused to many developing countries by rapid financial, trade and investment liberalization, the growing in equalities of wealth and opportunities a rising from globazation and the perception that environmental, social and cultural problems have been made worse by the working of the global free economy. In this connection, this article analyses the features of Islamic economy system, the nature of economy globalization, the failure of the conventional economy systems in the age of global village and the roles, and challenges of Muslim Ummah to globally implimens the Islamic Economy system in the world countries.

Analisis Kritis Peluang dan Tantangan Ekonomi Islam di Era Globalisasi. Globalisasi telah menjadi proses pendefinisian zaman sekarang. Aspek yang paling penting dari globalisasi ekonomi adalah penghancuran hambatan ekonomi nasional, penyebaran perdagangan internasional, kegiatan keuangan dan produksi, dan meningkatnya kekuatan korporasi transnasional dan lembaga keuangan internasional dalam proses tersebut. Sementara peluang dan manfaat dari proses ini telah ditekankan oleh para pendukung dan pendukungnya, baru-baru ini telah terjadi peningkatan kekecewaan di antara banyak pembuat kebijakan di negara berkembang, analisis dan akademisi serta komunitas organisasi non-pemerintah (LSM) di kedua wilayah Timur. dan negara-negara Barat. Banyak alasan untuk mengubah persepsi dan sikap terhadap globalisasi. Di antara yang lain adalah kurangnya manfaat nyata bagi sebagian besar negara berkembang dari pembukaan ekonomi mereka terlepas dari klaim ekspor dan pendapatan yang dipublikasikan dengan baik, kerugian ekonomi dan dislokasi sosial yang disebabkan oleh banyak negara berkembang oleh liberalisasi keuangan, perdagangan, dan investasi yang cepat , meningkatnya kesetaraan kekayaan dan peluang yang timbul dari globalisasi dan persepsi bahwa masalah lingkungan, sosial dan budaya telah diperburuk oleh kerja ekonomi bebas global. Dalam hubungan ini, artikel ini menganalisis fitur sistem ekonomi Islam, sifat globalisasi ekonomi, kegagalan sistem ekonomi konvensional di zaman desa global dan perannya, dan tantangan umat Islam untuk secara global memberlakukan sistem ekonomi Islam di dunia.
