Pembelajaran dengan sitem kuliah cenderung hanya dappat dimanfaatkan secara baik oleh mahasiswa yang cepat dan rajin saja dan jumlah mereka ini biasanya sangat terbatas. Pada sisi lain perkuliahan dalam nntuk diskusi makalah yang sering juga dilakukan selama ini belum berjalan dengan baik. Persoalan pembelajaran terutama bagi mahasiswa Fakultas Pendidikan dan Keguruan harus diberikan secara variatif agar menjadi model bagi mereka untuk ditiru langsung dan diikuti kelak. Salah satu model Aactive Learning adalah Pembelajaran Tutorial Terprogram. Model pembelajaran ini akan lebih menggerakkan mahasiswa untuk belajar karena caranya langsung berhadapan satu persatu antara tutor dan tutee sehingga semua mereka terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran. Mereka akan memperoleh keuntungan-keuntungan berupa semua mahasiswa sempat belajar secara efektif melalui tutor sebaya dan juga dari dosen, bagi mahasiswa cepat akan lebih jauh menguasai materi karena mereka sering membelajarkan teman-temannya.References
