إن عملية التقويم عملية هادفة. هذه إشارة ضمنية إلى ضرورية تحديد الأهداف التدريسية وهي الهدف المعرفي والانفعالي والنفس الحركي. إن التعلم الجيد يتطلب تنوع طرق التقويم المستخدمة واستخدام أساليب تقويم غير تقليدية، لا تقتصر على الورقة والقلم، وتختلف طرق التقويم وأساليبه تبعاً للهدف من عملية التقويم ذاتها، وتبعاً لطبيعة الأهداف المراد التحقق من بلوغ التلميذ لها. ومن الأساليب التي يناسب استخداها في تقويم المجال الوجداني وهي الملاحظة، المقابلة، أسلوب الاسقاط، دراسة الحالة، الاستبيان وغيرها.
